Aqua Blu
A vessel of naval heritage, refitted for the frontiers of East Indonesia.
The Experience
A Day Aboard Aqua Blu
Mornings aboard Aqua Blu start at the dive platform, where the first briefing happens as the sun rises over the water and the scent of reef mixes with salt air. The two excursion skiffs are already in the water. One heads toward the dive site, the other toward a beach that only shows up on the captain's personal charts. The remaining guests take breakfast on the Forecastle Deck, where coffee arrives before anyone has to ask.
Afternoons shift pace. The Sun Deck fills with guests who have just returned from snorkeling or kayaking. The spa books quickly: a Balinese massage therapist works through the afternoon. At 10 knots, Aqua Blu moves between anchorages with efficiency, arriving at the evening's position in time for drinks in the Sky Lounge before the kitchen sends out dinner. With thirty crew for thirty guests, the ratio holds at a level where attention never slackens and nothing is rushed.
The Vessel
Technical Specifications
International Safety Classification
Aqua Blu holds the highest international classifications in safety and is equipped with Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers for optimal comfort across open-water passages. Her steel construction, built to naval specifications, and her 2024 refurbishment mean she meets stringent standards for extended ocean voyaging in remote waters across the Indonesian archipelago.
Accommodation
Fifteen Private Sanctuaries
Aqua Blu's 15 suites range from 14 to 34 square meters across four decks. The vessel was originally fitted out under Dutch yacht designer Cor D. Rover during her 2006 conversion; her current interiors were refreshed in 2024 by Birgit Galli Zugaro. Plush carpets, neutral tones, and organic bath amenities define the rooms, while overhead rainfall showers in every en-suite bathroom reflect the quality of finishing throughout the vessel. The largest suites feel more akin to boutique hotel rooms than anything built for a hull. Whether guests book a double or twin configuration, they find the same quiet attention to detail: well-calibrated reading lights, climate control that responds without fuss, and sightlines through portholes to whichever island happens to be passing.
Sixty meters of steel hull, five tenders in the water, and thirty crew standing by before breakfast.
