El Aleph
Handmade in Serangan. Reimagined for the archipelago.
The Experience
A Day Aboard El Aleph
Dawn comes early on the water. The anchor chain shifts before most guests are awake, and by the time the first coffee appears on deck the boat is already positioned somewhere new: a reef edge, a sheltered bay, a channel where manta rays pass in the morning light. The crew of 13 moves quietly; the ratio of 1.3 crew per guest means nothing waits long.
Afternoons unfold around whatever the day has offered. Snorkeling gear appears without request if the water is clear. Kayaks deploy. The main deck, with its generous shade and arrangement for both sunbathing and conversation, draws guests back to rest between activities. By evening, the woven textures and warm teak of the interior glow in the low light, and dinner is served on deck as the sky does what Indonesian skies do at the close of a full day.

2025 Refit: Archipelago Chic
The 2025 refit by Rascal Voyages brought a deliberate shift in aesthetic direction. Lighter teak, left closer to its natural grain, replaced heavier finished surfaces. Handwoven textiles from the islands El Aleph sails appear in every cabin and shared space. Antiques from Javanese and Balinese dealers were selected individually, not in sets. Bathrooms were fully rebuilt. The result is a vessel whose interior feels rooted in the archipelago rather than imported from elsewhere.
Accommodation
Five Considered Spaces
The master suite occupies the upper deck, the most generous of the five cabins at 7.5 by 4 meters with wraparound windows, a private balcony, walk-in wardrobe, and dressing room. The Super King bed is paired with a daybed beneath the windows. Light teak joinery and handwoven headboard textiles reflect the 2025 refit's quiet confidence: nothing superfluous, nothing borrowed from a hotel catalog.
Two VIP double cabins below deck offer queen beds and daybeds, with the same antique details and refitted en-suite bathrooms. Two further standard double cabins, each convertible between queen and twin configurations (the twins can interconnect, useful for families), complete the layout. Every cabin is air-conditioned and has cross-ventilation for when guests prefer sea air to refrigeration. A separate nanny cabin with en-suite is available below deck per the floor plan, outside the main five-cabin count.
The kind of anchorage where you stop looking at your phone because the water is doing something better.
The Team
Meet the Crew
A 1:1.3 guest-to-crew ratio keeps service present without being formal. The captain navigates waters he has sailed for years. The chef cooks to preference, not to a rotating menu. The dive team knows the local sites by name.
