The Journey

From Sorong into the Kingdom of Coral

Ten nights covering the full breadth of Raja Ampat: Sorong north to Wayag, then south through Waigeo, Batanta, and Misool. Designed around a family of mixed ages and interests.

The pace alternates active days (jungle treks for birds-of-paradise, kayaking saltwater lagoons, snorkeling with reef sharks at Wayag's ranger station, plunging through Tomolol Cave by SUP) with relaxed days at anchor in calm bays. The yacht handles the logistics so the parents can enjoy too.

Highlights include the panoramic karst at Wayag, manta encounters at Manta Sandy, village visits at Manyaifun and Arborek, jungle waterfalls on Batanta, and the Mushroom Islands of Misool.

Designed around children, but not dumbed down. Snorkeling at Manta Sandy, jungle hikes for birds-of-paradise, Tomolol cave by SUP, baby sharks at Wayag's ranger station. The yacht handles the logistics so the parents can enjoy too.

Guided by Those Who Know These Waters

A family trip works when the day suits everyone in it, which is rarely the same thing for a nine-year-old and a grandparent. We pace this Raja Ampat route so the younger ones stay engaged and the adults still get the diving and the quiet that drew them. Tell us the ages traveling and what each of them loves, and we will build a week that holds all of it.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time for this voyage?

October through April is the primary season for Raja Ampat, with calmer seas and better visibility for snorkeling. The region is generally diveable year-round, though some sites in the north are best during the dry season. We'll advise on conditions at the time of booking.

Is this itinerary suitable for young children?

Yes. The pace and activities can be adapted for any age group, including young children. Snorkeling is accessible from beaches and the tender, hikes can be adjusted for fitness levels, and the RIB rides are genuinely exciting for kids. The crew are experienced with family charters.

Do we need diving experience?

No diving experience is required for this itinerary. Many of Raja Ampat's best sites are accessible by snorkel alone. For certified divers in the group, check dives can be arranged at sites along the route. A PADI instructor can be arranged on request.

Can the route be adjusted?

Every charter is adapted to the group. Your cruise director adjusts the daily schedule to your group's interests, the conditions, and whatever the crew discovers along the way. Want an extra day in Wayag or a visit to a pearl farm in Aljui Bay? Just say so.
